Why do I need to submit my site to so many different search engines and directories?
Search engines are the most efficient way to increase the amount of visitors to your site. They are the main sources of traffic for almost every web site and the more search engines you are listed in, the more traffic your site will receive. Submitting to directories will also increase your link popularity which is a very important factor in your site's ranking on search engines.
How long will it take for my site to be listed on all the major search engines?
Due to the nature of search engines, it is impossible to say exactly how long it will take for your site to be listed. One search engine may index your web site overnight while another may take up to 4-6 weeks or longer. If you would like your site to be indexed within 48 hours, please check out the following link to our expedited services: Pay Per Click Marketing
Which search engines and directories will you submit my site to?
Ideas4Now only submits to the top essential search engines and directories that are guaranteed to generate traffic to your site. You can view our full list of search engines and directories here.
Will you submit my site to every single search engine on your list?
Your web site will be added to every search engine on the list that matches your site profile. Some search engines are made available only to certain countries or specific types of web sites. We will however, submit your web site to hundreds of the top essential search engines and directories. Be aware that not every site submission will be successful and that some search engines and directories are unable to accept submissions due to technical difficulties.
Will I get spam emails after my site is submitted?
Some of the search engines may send out confirmation emails or add your email address to their newsletters. For this reason, it is recommended that you use an alternative or "throw-away" email account for your site submission.
What are META tags?
META tags are keywords encoded into the main page of your web site. The information that is provided in a META tag is used by search engines to index a page so that a customer searching for the kind of information your page contains will be able to find it.
Can I submit a site that is still "under construction"?
It isn't a good idea to submit sites with "under construction" pages because they will most likely not be accepted by most of the directories.
Will I get a submission report?
Yes! You will receive a submission report in HTML format via email within three business days after your order is received. The report will show you which search engines your site was successfully submitted to.
Can Ideas4Now guarantee inclusion and top ranking on the search engines?
Because every search engine has a different way of ranking pages, it isn't possible for any company to guarantee top ranking. We will submit your site to the top essential search engines and directories but it is up to the individual search engine or directory to decide whether they will accept your site or not.
How Often should I submit to search engines and directories?
Although it depends mainly on the criteria set by each search engine, there are some general rules regarding when you should resubmit your site.
For search engines that crawl your web site, the rules are as follows:
  • If your URL changes, you will need to resubmit. Some search engines have Dead Link forms for you to fill out. Those that do not will drop the old URL from its records the next time it tries to visit your site at the old address and is unable to find it.
  • If the content of your site changes so extensively that the abstract no longer adequately describes your site you should resubmit. These changes, however, will be taken into account when the indexing agent next visits your site to refresh its information. Resubmitting will hasten this process.
  • Another reason to resubmit would be if your page drops out or never shows up.
For directories: Submit or make updates to listing:
  • If your Web site address (URL), description, or category classification changes, you will need to inform the webmaster of that directory.
  • If your category classification has changed and you are now inaccurately located within the directory's index and the listing falls dramatically.

Once you've been submitted or resubmitted your URL to the engines, the next thing for you to do is practice the fine art of P-A-T-I-E-N-C-E!!! Unless you've Paid for Inclusion or used Pay Per Click Marketing, your best bet is to submit and then forget about it for two to four weeks.

After two to four weeks, do a manual check of all the most important search engines and directories you were submitted to. It may seem like a long time to wait, but in reality it's a good strategy. After one to three months, you'll probably be pleasantly surprised to find that your site has been indexed by all of the major search engines. And better yet, if you optimized them correctly they should be bringing in tons of highly targeted traffic!
